the cds are good. they have accurate pronounciation and woderfull way of teaching. but if you use it in a different order. i would not have understand a thing if i did not know hiragana and katakana before. you would try it in this order
1.first cd#4 teaches you basics like kana and how to do sentences and how to read and understand japanese.
2. cd #1 that help you remember importannt phases after cd#2
3. the cd #3 that i have to dsay is totally in japanese with only few pointers in english. but if you study the cd #4 first you will be abel to understand everything.
4. and last #5 that teaches you kanji
